Al Akhbar (Arabic: الأخبار) is an Arabic daily newspaper based in Egypt. It was founded in May 1952 as a part of Akhbar el-Yom. It is a state-owned semi-official newspaper. Its current editor in chief is Mohammad Barakat. The Al Akhbar organization also sponsors a four year accredited Egyptian University, Akhbar El Youm Academy, in 6th of October City.
Akhbar El youm Academy is a high educational academy located in 6 October city in the west of cairo directly becide the main press printing of Al-Akhbar. Akhbar El Youm offer the Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration & journalism. Akhbar El Youm Academy is also a part of Al-Akhbar press institution. The Academy's bachelor certificate is equivalent to the national Egyptian universities/colleges Bachelor degree which make the academy a credible college in Egypt that the students are able to sign their names in the Egyptian professional syndicates according the field of their Bachelor degree.
